A loving sister, aunt, cherished family member and friend passed away on October 30, 2025 at the age of 63.
Vicky Lyn Pavlis was born July 14, 1962, in the upper room of the old Platte Hospital (now a private residence). After graduating from Geddes Public School in 1980, she attended Northwestern Bible College in St. Paul, MN, majoring in music education.
Vicky lit up the room with her bubbly personality and never met a stranger. Being an adventurous person, she lived in several states including Alaska, Colorado, Minnesota, New Mexico and South Dakota, and kept in touch with many "strangers".
She had a variety of jobs throughout her life, which included owning her own business called "Specialty Monograms"; working in a salmon factory and at a ski resort (not at the same time); assistant manager at August Max Woman in the Mall of America; selling time shares in NM; was an assistant at the Association of Realtors in New Mexico; a house/pet sitter - cats, dogs, birds, alpacas, llamas, horses, and more! The last ten years of her life were dedicated to taking care of her parents on the farm located by Geddes, SD.
Playing piano, singing her heart out, or both brought her much joy. Vicky also enjoyed traveling and spending time with friends. Her love for the outdoors was unquenchable, especially water sports like swimming, skiing or just relaxing in a boat on her beloved Missouri River.
Above all and most important in her life was people, to whom she brought love and joy to everyone around her. Vicky lived to love on one and all, especially her nieces and nephews. Many had the privilege of receiving her baked goods, with lemon poppyseed bread, chocolate chip banana bread and cookies being her specialties.

Platte, SD; niece Julie (Brian) Boehmke, Webster, MN; niece Denise (David) Ehlers, Newcastle, WY; niece Gloria Horvath, Dolton, SD; niece Lori (Glen) Dewald, Delmont, SD; nephew Curtis (Tiffany) Sybesma, Geddes, SD; niece Valerie (Gabe) Strand,

Great/great nieces and nephew are Lennox Marie Ehlers, Parker Nikol Ehlers, Colter Dean Jacobson and Sylvia Kay Bultsma.
