Vicky Marie Soppa, age 79, of Rochester Mn passed away peacefully at her home on December 22, 2025, surrounded by love.

Vicky was born in Mankato, MN. August 8, 1946, the daughter of the late Burl and Margaret Long.

She graduated from John Marshall High School in Rochester, Minnesota. She attended college in

Milwaukee, Wisconsin as a Med Tech & worked for Teamsters Union in Milwaukee from 1966-1988 as a lab technician. She later worked for Mayo Health System as an Education Specialist and the Mayo Foundation For Medical Education & Research.

She spent her life devoted to family, career and community. She was known for her kindness, strength and generosity.

After retiring in 2008, she later worked part-time with her husband's company, Alternative Transportation/Special Transportation Services, until Jan 2013.

Vicky and her husband love to travel the world, exploring Mexico, Caribbeans, Europe and her native homeland, Norway.

She is survived by beloved husband, Jim Edward Soppa, who lovingly cared for her at home, her stepson Matt Soppa of Glendale, Arizona, and several nieces and nephews.

During her final chapter of life, following a lengthy illness, she was cared for at home with deep devotion by her husband & caregiver, allowing her to remain in the comfort and dignity of her own home.

A spring burial will in held at Woodland Hills Memorial Park, in Mankato MN.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks for donations to be made to the Alzheimer's foundation.
