With grace and deep love, we remember the life of Vicky "Denise" Thompson, 72, who passed away on March 13, 2026. A woman of unwavering faith and boundless devotion, Denise was truly the heartbeat of her family and a light to all who knew her. Denise lived a life defined by service, compassion, and faith. As a Registered Nurse, she dedicated her career to caring for others, offering comfort, healing, and kindness to countless patients and families. Her spirit of service extended far beyond her profession. She was deeply involved in her community and her church, faithfully serving as Chaplain of the Ladies Auxiliary, where she uplifted others through prayer, encouragement, and steadfast faith. Her life was a living testimony of the values she held dear-love, service, and devotion to God and others. Above all, Denise was the ultimate matriarch. Her greatest joy was her family, and she rarely missed a moment of their lives. Whether it was a rainy soccer game, a choir or band concert, a ball game, birthday party, or holiday gathering, Denise could always be found in the front row-or doing everything she could to get there-cheering louder than anyone else. Camera in hand, she captured memories that would last for generations. A passionate scrapbooker, Denise believed every moment mattered. No family outing was complete without someone being asked to save a napkin, a ticket stub, or an extra flyer-because she needed "one for me and one for the scrapbook." Through those carefully crafted pages, she preserved the story of her family's life with love and pride. Denise was also known for the warmth she brought into her home. Her famous spaghetti recipe gathered family around the table again and again, creating memories that will forever be tied to laughter, conversation, and the comfort of her kitchen. She loved music that told a powerful story, songs that stirred the soul and reflected the deep emotions she carried in her heart. She carried herself with a sparkle that perfectly matched her spirit. Denise loved to dress in glitz, glam, and bedazzled style, lighting up every room she entered with both her appearance and her personality. Her legacy lives on in the family she nurtured with such fierce and gentle love. She is survived by her children, Jonathan Shook (Heidi) of Dallas, Texas; Angela Shook-Rowland (Tony) of Searcy, Arkansas; Jennifer Shook-Brackenridge (Bryan); and Amanda Martin of
Bald Knob, Arkansas, along with 15 beloved grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren, who were truly the light of her life. Her mother, two sisters and a brother. She was preceded in death by her father, her brother, and her husbands. Though her family's hearts are heavy with loss, they find comfort in the countless memories she so lovingly preserved and the deep faith she carried throughout her life. Denise leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and family that will continue to guide those who knew her. Her story is not only written in the pages of the scrapbooks she treasured-but in the hearts of the family she loved so dearly.
