In Loving Memory of Victor Adu-Gyamfi July 15, 1973 – September 1, 2025 Victor Kwasi Oppong Kyekyeku Adu-Gyamfi passed away unexpectedly on September 1, 2025, at the age of 52. He will be remembered for the joy, warmth, and positivity he brought into every space. Grounded in his faith, Victor found peace in quiet Sunday mornings spent listening to online sermons. Whether at work, with family, or among friends, he carried with him the generous spirit and vibrant culture of Ghana-uplifting others through kindness, laughter, and love. Born and raised in Ghana, Victor attended PRESEC Presbyterian Boys' Secondary School, where he began to shape the values and discipline that guided his life. He later moved to the United States and earned both his Bachelor's in Actuarial Science and his MBA from Cleveland State University. Victor was a dedicated professional, with a career that spanned across several respected companies, including Ghana Classifieds, Micro Center, American Greetings, and most recently, Progressive Insurance. At Progressive, he co-founded the African Union employee resource group, creating space for colleagues from across the African continent to connect, celebrate culture, and support one another. Outside of work, Victor lived life with fullness and intention. A lifelong soccer enthusiast, he played in several over-30 leagues and never missed a match. He loved cooking meals that brought people together, staying active, and traveling to experience new cultures and build lasting connections. Victor's greatest joy was his family. He met his beloved wife, Gretchen, in New York City, and the two married in 2002. Their love took them from New York to Kansas, and ultimately to Cleveland, Ohio in 2006. In 2007, they welcomed their daughter, Isabel, with whom Victor shared a special bond over music and math. Her academic and athletic accomplishments brought him immeasurable pride and happiness. Victor is survived by his devoted wife of 23 years, Gretchen Adu-Gyamfi; his cherished daughter, Isabel Adu-Gyamfi; his brothers, Dr. Kwame Oduro Adu-Gyamfi of New York and Nana Jerry Adu-Gyamfi of New Jersey; and his sister, Joyce Fosuhene of Accra, Ghana. He was preceded in death by his loving parents, Samuel Adu-Gyamfi and Mary Owusu Adu-Gyamfi. Victor's memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. His life was a beautiful testament to joy, resilience, connection, and unwavering love. He leaves behind a legacy of compassion and community that will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know him.
