Victor C. Bergsten

Victor C. Bergsten, 72, of Tolland, cherished husband to Anne (Siedsma) Bergsten, passed away at his home with his beloved wife by his bedside. He was diagnosed with Parkinson's shortly after moving to Tolland seven years ago, battled throat cancer, and more recently gall bladder cancer before his passing. He fought long and hard and had just chosen hospice care last week.
Despite his health challenges, since moving to Tolland, Victor enjoyed his gardening, caring for their exotic rescue bird, and happily playing with his grandniece, Addison. Many hours were spent appreciating the lovely view out of their living room windows: the Campbell Farm, gardens, old stone wall, and multiple birds and bunnies.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by his brother, Robert Bergsten (Sandy); his sisters, Deb Jones (Art) and Anita Ball (John); as well as his nieces, nephews and their families, Elisabeth, Becky, Michael, Andrew, Alisa, Amanda, Danny, Chris, and Tina. Victor was predeceased by his parents and his sister, Susan.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at a later date to be announced. Ladd-Turkington & Carmon Funeral Home, in Vernon, are in care of his arrangements.
