Lorain-Victor Paul Ceja, lovingly known as "Vic" to his friends and loved ones, passed away on Wednesday, April 2nd, 2025, at the age of 91. Born in Lorain, Ohio on January 20, 1934, Victor was a lifelong resident of his beloved hometown. He was a dedicated graduate of St. Mary's High School, Class of 1954, where he excelled at basketball and football. Victor proudly enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps in 1956 during the Korean War. He was deployed to Korea shortly thereafter, serving as a tank mechanic and was honorably discharged in 1958.
Victor was a talented cement finisher, a trade he practiced for 45 years with Ceja Cement, his brother Tony's cement business. He was deeply committed to his work, leaving a lasting legacy within the community through his craftsmanship. In his leisure, Victor was an avid music lover and was known for his active participation in St. Mary's Church events. However, what mattered most to Victor was spending time with his family. Their shared moments of joy, laughter, and love are cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
Victor's loving spirit will forever be remembered by his devoted wife of 36 years, Jeannette Mary Ceja; children, Anthony (Jaye) Ceja, Laura Buckholz, Deborah (Tim) Sebok, and Nicole Ceja; siblings, Anita Garcia and Raul "Tony" Ceja; step-children, Mark Naelitz and Jill Wickline; step daughter-in-law, Terri Naelitz; grandchildren, Lauren, Leigh, Paul, Kim, Sean, Cody, Tara, Brian, Rebekah and Mitch; step grandchildren, Aleena, Stephen, Damien, Zachary, David and Matthew; and 12 great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of 30 years, Geraldine Ceja; parents, Victor Sr. and Candelaria (nee Maciel) Ceja; sister, Angelina Garcia; half siblings, Sally, Josephine, Louisa, Raymond, and Salvador; step-son, Scott Naelitz; and step-grandson, David Naelitz.
Vic's wishes for cremation services are fulfilled and his family wishes to honor Vic's life on Friday, April 11, 2025 at St. Mary's Church, 309 W 7th St., Lorain, Ohio, 44052 with visitation at 9:30 AM until the time of the Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, Fr. Daniel O. Divis, Pastor, officiating and Deacon Luis Maldonado, con-celebrating. Military honors will be conducted by the U.S. Marine Corps immediately following the Mass.
