Victor Cruz

Victor Escalera Cruz gained his wings on August 7, 2021 at the age of 26. Victor was born in Carolina, Puerto Rico on June 18, 1995 to parents Gloria Cruz Melendez and Jose Escalera Ortiz.
Victor was a hyper, funny and very smart child, who was always running around helping others and making everyone laugh. Growing up, he proudly stated he wanted to become a professional boxer to support his family. Victor grew up to become a professional barber and continued boxing on his free time. He also grew up to be a person that had a special impact on everyone he met. He always wore his heart on his sleeve. Despite his feisty, wild, and spontaneous personality, Victor never thought twice about helping those in need. His smooth dancing skills and fascination for salsa music were strictly instilled by his mother. His favorite song was "Yo No Se Mañana" by Luis Enrique. This passion for Latin music is what will keep us connected forever. Everyone who knew Victor was inspired by his kind soul and wise mentality.
He was a loved friend, brother, cousin, grandson, nephew, uncle, son, and most importantly, a father. His happiest moments were those when he was with his son, Alexander.
Victor lived his life to the fullest and on his own terms. He wanted nothing but the best for himself and his family. He always did his best and always did it at 110%. "Family is everything".
