Victor M. DeSousa, age 60 of Assonet, passed away on June 26, 2025 at Saint Luke’s Hospital with his loving family by his side.
He was the beloved husband of Bella (Caetano) DeSousa.
Born in Faial, Azores, he was the son of Deolinda (Goulart) DeSousa and the late Manuel C. DeSousa.
Before his illness, Victor was employed with State Street Bank as a Mutual Fund Accountant, and co-owner of Caetano’s Garage and Auto Sales in Taunton. He was member of Taunton Sports Club.
Victor enjoyed sports cars, music, and traveling with his wife around the world. He was also a graduate of UMASS Amherst, and holds a BS in Business Administration.
Besides his beloved wife Bella and his mother Deolinda, Victor is survived by a brother Robert DeSousa and his wife Tara of Assonet, three sisters, Elsa Silveira and her husband Manny of Taunton, Olga Costa of Assonet, and Maria Lattimore and her husband Van of Taunton, and his Mother-in-law Herminia Felix of Assonet. He was also the step-father of Ally Rodriguez of Taunton, Nathan Tavares of Assonet and the grandfather of Miranda and Elan, whom he loved deeply.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday, July 5, 2025 at 9am in Saint Anthony Church School Street, Taunton. Relatives and friends may meet directly at church at 8:45 am and park in the rear parking lot of the church.
Interment will follow in Saint Joseph Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts should be made to Dana-Farber Cancer Institute in Victor’s memory, would be deeply appreciated.
