Victor Manuel Montenegro

Victor Manuel Montenegro, 62, passed away surrounded by his loved ones on October 1, 2025.
He leaves behind his wife of 32 years, Veronica, three sons, Josue (Lia), Isaias, and Jared, and
two grandchildren, Ava and Leo. He also leaves behind four sisters, Maria (Carlos Loza), Juani
(Miguel Loza), Berta (Sergio Parra), and Lorena (Victor Madrigal), and many loving nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Jesus and Apolonia Montenegro.

Victor was born in the town of Carreras, Durango, Mexico, and immigrated to the U.S. in 1975.
He graduated from Oakland High School and went on to work for UPS for over thirty years. He
enjoyed sports throughout his life, a lifelong fan of the Oakland Raiders, A's, and Golden State
Warriors. He coached his sons' sports teams throughout their childhood, and met many friends
in the process. He was also a beloved member of his church community. He was deeply loved
and will be greatly missed by his family and all who knew him.

Visitation will be from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m, rosary at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15 at Holy
Sepulchre Funeral Center, 1051 Harder Road, Hayward, CA 94542. A funeral mass will be held
on Thursday, October 16 at 11 a.m. at St. Leander Church, 550 W. Estudillo Avenue, San
Leandro, CA 94577. Interment will follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
