Victor Omorogieva Oshodi, 75, formerly of the Bronx, New York, passed away on November 2, 2024 surrounded by his loving family.
Born on August 16, 1949 and raised in Lagos, Nigeria to the late William I. and Alice Aiyev (nee Iyoha) Oshodi. Victor was raised in Nigeria and traveled to the United States to pursue his education. He graduated from Jersey City State College with a Bachelor's degree & from Ohio University with a Masters degree. For over thirty years prior to retirement, Victor was a mentor and shared his love of knowledge with his students at the New York school system; retiring at West Side High School in 2014. He had all of the attributes of an incredible teacher. He was cool, calm, and collected. He was highly intelligent and extremely supportive to not only his students, but to all of his family and friends.
A kind, friendly and loving gentleman, Victor was devoted to his family. He was proud of his Nigerian culture and throughout the years, collected African art and oddities. His love of traveling brought him back home to Nigeria and places such as Hawaii, Dubai and Aruba being a few of his favorites. Victor had an awesome sense of style and enjoyed shopping for the finest suits and expensive shoes. He will be sadly missed by those who loved him.
Beloved husband of the late, Averilyn Oshodi; devoted father of Kemi (CJ) Ojiaku and Nicole Oshodi; cherished grandfather of Kennedy and Angelina-Marie; dear brother of Millicent, Maria, Toghos, Vei, John, Friday, Goodwin & Kingsley. Victor is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Victor's viewing on Friday, November 15, 2024, 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at the Mount Laurel Home for Funerals, 212 Ark Road, Mount Laurel, NJ 08054, where the Funeral Ceremony will begin at 12:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Ojiaku Family at 25 Forestview Court, Marlton, NJ 08053.
