Victor James "Vic" Roberts

Victor James Roberts (Vic), age 95 years young, died at his home on Thursday, March 16, 2023. He was born in Person County and lived in east Roxboro his entire life. Vic was born August 30, 1927, the fourth oldest child and the last surviving of eight children born to James and Onie Oakley Roberts; Toby Roberts, Willie R. Carver, Louise R. Huff, Victor Roberts, Linwood Roberts, Eldridge (Woo) Roberts, Isaiah (PeeWee) Roberts, Linda R. Wrenn.
Vic worked at several places of employment including Roxboro Cotton Mill, Whitaker's Manufacturing, Hunter Douglas and as a security guard. He was an active member of Red Mountain Baptist Church as long as his health allowed.
He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years, Delora Bowen Roberts and one son, James (Jimmy) Roberts and his wife Norma. Also surviving are two granddaughters, Rachel and Ruth, and four great-grandchildren, as well as numerous other beloved family members and friends.
Visitation will be held 6-7:30PM Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Brooks & White Funeral Home. The funeral will be Saturday, March 18, 2023 at 2PM at Red Mountain Baptist Church conducted by Rev. Dave Pryor and Rev. Joe Glenn. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Ricky Bowen, Tommy Bowen, Terry Carden, Ted Carver, Andy Green, Scott Green, Landon O'Dell, Lee O'Dell and Wayne Roberts. Honorary pallbearers will be Brad Allison, Bo Carver and Brad Walker.
