Victor Stronski
Victor Stronski passed away on April 11, 2024 at home amid family and friends after a long and heroic battle with Parkinson's disease. A loving husband, father, grandfather, son, and friend, he was born in Queens, NY in 1932 to Victor A. Stronski and Clara Quinn Stronski. He studied political science at Queens College, where he met his wife Margaret ("Peggy") Dwyer Stronski. Best friends, they were married for 53 years until her death in 2011. After college, he served in the U.S. Air Force, rising to the rank of Captain. He then graduated from New York University Law School, and worked as a corporate attorney for over 50 years until fully retiring at the age of 82. He and Peggy had three sons James (Theresa), Neil (Patty) and Paul (Christine) and raised their children in Flushing, Queens and Chappaqua, NY before moving to Bronxville, NY in 2006. In retirement, they traveled the U.S. and world together, entertained in their homes in NY and Hilton Head, SC, and maintained many close friendships with people from the many stages of their lives. Vic instilled a love of family, travel, beaches, and intellectual debate in his children and grandchildren. In addition to his three sons and daughters-in-law, he is survived by seven grandchildren – Emily, Keelin, Isabel, Patrick, Luke, Caroline and Quinn.
In lieu of flowers, you may wish to make a contribution to the NBIA Disorders Association in his memory. His granddaughter Quinn suffers from BPAN, a form of Neurodegeneration with Brain Iron Accumulation (NBIA). NBIA-BPAN is a rare genetic disorder that causes multiple disabilities, including Parkinsonian symptoms and shortened lifespan.
