Bennettsville, SCCarolyn Victoria Kirby won her battle against cancer and was made completely whole on Monday, July 15, 2024. She passed from this world and peacefully entered heaven surrounded by her family and friends. Throughout her battle with cancer, her faith in God never wavered.
Victoria was born on April 5, 1992, to Woodrow and Sheila Kirby. She was a mother, daughter, sister, aunt, educator and a devoted friend. She had an infectious laugh and a smile that could light up any room. She loved deeply, and if she said she had your back, she meant it. Outside of spending time with her loved ones, Victoria also loved reading and shopping, especially for shoes.
Victoria was an active member of Victory World Outreach Center. She served in the church throughout her life. Growing up, she participated in the youth group, handbell choir, and Christmas plays; she never missed an opportunity to fellowship with others and let her light shine. As an adult, she volunteered in the children's church ministry teaching young people about the Lord. She had a true servant's heart, and her love for God and her faith shined bright throughout her life.
Victoria was a 2010 Honor Graduate of Marlboro County High School and continued her education at Coastal Carolina University. In 2015, Victoria graduated Magna Cum Laude from Coastal Carolina University's Spadoni College of Education with a degree in Early Childhood Education. She went on to complete her Masters in Literacy from Grand Canyon University in 2020.
She began her career at Bennettsville Primary School where she taught Pre-K. Her passion was teaching and shaping the minds of children. She loved each child dearly and the tougher they were the more she loved them. She devoted herself to the children in her care ensuring her students were cared for, safe, and loved. All will remember her energy, kindness, and spirit.
Victoria leaves behind her parents Woodrow and Sheila Kirby; son Lynx; sister Felicia Hale (David); nieces Addison Hale and Grace Jeffcoat; nephews Eli Hale and Will Jeffcoat; grandfather Claude Chavis; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins that she loved dearly.
