Victoria Ramirez who graced this earth for 95 years, passed away peacefully at home with her loving family at her side. Victoria and her husband, Raul, who were both born in Texas, met and fell in love in the town of Agualeguas, Nuevo León in Mexico where both were raised. They started their married life together in 1951, and in the fall of 1952 they came to Chicago to start their family. While Raul worked hard to provide for them, Victoria worked hard managing the household and raising their nine children. She was an excellent cook and the best "director of operations" for the household. Victoria loved to dance and listen to Mexican norteñas and rancheras. Family was very important to Victoria. She was the Matriarch of the Ramirez family, so nothing was more important to her than her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and being the second oldest of nine children herself, Victoria helped raise her brothers and sisters, whom she loved dearly. Victoria touched many lives with her gracious and giving spirit. She lived her life with love, courage, dignity and pride. We will miss her enduring love, but take comfort in knowing she lived a long and blessed life full of love and joy, and that she will be welcomed into the arms of her beloved husband. She and Raul were married for 64 years until he passed away in 2015. She was the cherished mother of Arminda (Everardo) Saldaña, the late Raul Ramirez Jr., Rudolfo Ramirez, Jose Carmen Ramirez, Maria Victoria Ramirez, Jose Luis (Helen) Ramirez, David Ramirez (daughter-in-law Margarita), Raulene (Jose) Villanueva and Norma (Reynaldo) Valdez. Devoted grandmother of Edgardo (Lety) Saldaña, the late Everardo "Baby" Saldaña, Anthony Ramirez, Joseph Ramirez, David Ramirez Jr., Erica Ramirez, Jose Eduardo Villanueva, Sandra Villanueva and Victoria Villanueva, Enrique Valdez and Reina Valdez. Great grandmother of Adam and Nylah Saldaña, Liam Ramirez and Levy and Vida Ramirez. Victoria was preceded in death by her parents, Librado and Carmen Villarreal. She will be missed by her many brothers and sisters, nieces, nephews and great nieces and great nephews.
