Tatanka Inyan, Tatanka Inyan, Tatanka Inyan, Tatanka Inyan. We say his Lakota name four times to the four winds, his English name also the name of a Ponca War Chief came from exactly that and represented exactly that Strength and Love for His People. Victorio Carter Augustus Camp, our greatest leader who also knew how to be your friend, your leader, your relative, was a peoples person from the beginning. When his Ina, Michelle Richard Tyon, had him during a time when the movement was still very much active. Victorio was a Bigfoot Rider, he was hunka'd by Alex and Debbie White Plume and worked beside Debra fighting against uranium mining, gold mining, or any other kind of mining he was definitely opposed to the Keystone XL Pipeline. He was a part of the Standing Rock occupation in the high star camp and red warrior camp during one of the biggest gatherings of the nations since Wounded Knee. Victorio was also a good Eyapaha for his people not a easy task to do but he never let his people down. So at this time we would like to tell our Grandson, Our Son, Our Nephew, Our Brother, Our Cousin, Our Friend, Our Father, Our Husband, Our Grandfather, Our Spiritual Advisor, Our Leader, Our War Chief, Our Buffalo Dreamer with Bear Medicine, Our Head Eagle from the Wahukiza Luta Okolakiceye, Wopila. For all you taught us, Toksa Ake Inyan Tatanka, Victorio Carter Augustus Camp, until we meet again, Fly High and HokeHey!
Victorio was a true warrior and leader, he left behind with each of us who came across him a piece of him.
