Vince Dees Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Hansen Desert Hills Mortuary and Cemetery - Scottsdale on Mar. 2, 2026.
Vince Dees passed away at the age of 64 on February 23, 2026, after a short illness. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Vince was born in Houston, TX in 1962. He spent time growing up in Texas, Louisiana, Ohio and attending high school and coming of age in Parkersburg WV. He met his husband Rick Delery in Dallas TX in 1997. They had 29 wonderful, adventurous years together.

Vince was the kindest and nicest man you could meet. He woke up happy every morning and went to bed happy every night. And his huge Dees smile was there all day long. He loved to laugh.

He found his calling in a multi-decade career as the consummate, national award winning, guest services front desk agent at a Ritz Carlton in DC and a couple of large Hilton properties in California and Phoenix. He loved meeting and helping guests. On his own initiative he maintained a secret stash of cards and details he might learn about guests who returned frequently - birthdays, anniversaries, favorite wines or ice cream. On check-in he'd present them with a card and other gifts for these special occasions. They loved him and made it known at all levels. He was like the captain of the front desk ship. Before he retired in 2021, he spent 7 years at the large, beautiful Pointe Hilton Tapatio Cliffs resort built into the mountains of north Phoenix. This was his favorite job of all. He loved his colleagues, the property, the guests and the awesome employee Christmas parties he and Rick attended every year. He was so happy and proud to be awarded Employee of the Year after his first year there.

Vince made friends everywhere he went regularly but there's a special group at his local Press Coffee that he became especially close to. He loved his family all over Texas, California, and the Pacific NW, new and old movies, brow rubs, most all music including oldies, and TV shows from the 60s 70s and 80s. He also loved football and watched pretty much any and all games, though his heart was with the Cowboys. He loved the mountains, he loved the ocean and he loved Sedona.

Vince was very close to his family. In addition to his beloved husband Rick Delery of Phoenix, he is survived by his dear mother Delores Dees, who he adored, and his loving siblings sister Kim Dees, brother Eric Dees and his wife Melanie, all of Corpus Christi TX. He was the cherished uncle to his nephew Dallas Dees and partner Denise Glenn of Corpus Christi TX, niece Carissa Dees and partner Alex Alotte of Dallas TX, niece Tara Dees of California, niece Collette Leiter and husband Chris and their sons, grandnephews Noah and Silas of Camas WA, nephew Kristopher Delery of Reno NV, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Vince was predeceased by his father Val Dees and sister Pam Dees.

May he rest in Light, Love, Peace and Joy forever and ever.
