Vincent J. (Vinny) Cicci, age 67 of Danvers died unexpectedly on Monday March 20th. The son of the late Vincenzo and Maria (Perrone) Cicci, Mr. Cicci was raised in Malden and graduated from Northeast Metro Regional Vocational High School in Wakefield where he trained in printing.
After a brief foray into the printing business, Mr. Cicci went to work for Sunbeam Bread operating a bread route for many years during which time he made many contacts and lifelong friends. After leaving Sunbeam, Mr. Cicci embarked on a journey of self-owned businesses by purchasing a White Hen Pantry franchise he operated in Swampscott. Eventually he sold the White Hen business to pursue his life-long dream of owning his own restaurant, operating Giovanni's Roast Beef and Pizza (later Gio's) in Danvers for many years. Following his retirement from the restaurant business, Mr. Cicci operated a Pepperidge Farm bread route for several years.
An avid boater, fisherman and motorcyclist, Vinny enjoyed long rides along the Kancamagus Highway and peaceful days fishing off the coast of the North Shore. He was a devoted fan of Boston sports, especially the Bruins and Patriots and loved to collect sports memorabilia to adorn the walls of his restaurant and home.
Mr. Cicci is survived by his beloved wife Faye (Stefanou) Cicci, and their daughter Alexandra, his son Vincent, daughter in law Amy and granddaughters Ava, Ella and Mia; his daughter Christina (Cicci) Verlicco, son in law Steven and granddaughters Julianna and Vanessa; sons Thomas and William Cicci and their families and daughter Rosanna Loiacono and her family. In addition, he is also survived by his mother-in-law Vivian Stefanou, sister-in-laws Joanna Stefanou and Patricia (Stefanou) McKenna, his sister Natalie Cicci and her children, Melissa Cicci and Ray Cicci as well as many cousins.
He will be remembered as a loving and devoted family man and a loyal and generous friend by people too numerous to count.
