Vince Everett, born in Taylorville, Illinois, on June 8, 1969, entered eternal rest on September 16, 2025. He was welcomed into heaven with open arms by his loving mother, Gwendolyn "Gindy" Everett; his father, Delmar Everett; and his father-in-law, Steven Quintero. From an early age, Vince carried a deep sense of service and purpose, enlisting in the U.S. Army before he turned 18. His military journey brought him to San Antonio, Texas-a city that became his home and the place where he met the love of his life, Sophie Quintero. He asked her on a date, and, intrigued by this green-eyed, Midwestern, heavy-metal Army soldier with a quiet confidence, she agreed. That first date marked the beginning of a lifelong partnership filled with love, laughter, and shared dreams. Together, they celebrated 36 wonderful years of marriage, creating a life rich with cherished memories. Vince was also a devoted "Pawther" to their fur babies-Annie, Kitty, Nina, Clarice, Olive, Pepe, and Maggie-who brought him daily joy and affection. Compassion defined Vince's professional calling. After his military service, he attended nursing school at San Antonio College. As a Registered Nurse and, most recently, a Case Manager at WellMed/UnitedHealth Group, he was known not only for his skill and dedication but also for his humor and warm heart, which brought comfort to his patients. With his quick wit, Vince had a remarkable ability to make people laugh-even in life's hardest moments-leaving a lasting impression on colleagues, family, and friends alike. Outside of work, Vince embraced every moment life had to offer. He was a passionate sports fan, watching his beloved St. Louis Cardinals, collecting baseball cards, and cheering on his Washington Redskins on Sunday afternoons at home with a Pepsi and good snacks. A true auto enthusiast, he loved attending meet-ups and shows, proudly showcasing his prized 1967 Chevy Nova and iconic 1997 Toyota Supra. He also enjoyed evenings of camaraderie with his bowling league teammates, rocking out at live concerts, and taking Hill Country drives on his motorcycle. Vince knew how to savor life's simple pleasures too-whether it was indulging in his biannual steak dinner with a glass of fine wine, enjoying the occasional whiskey or bourbon, or satisfying his sweet tooth with peanut M&M's or homemade Rice Krispy treats. Vince is survived by his loving wife, Sophie Quintero-Everett; his mother-in-law, Elsie Quintero; his sisters, Becky Albert (Phillip), Cheryl Bond (Ron), Cindy DeLaCruz, Charlotte DeLaCruz, and Julie Thuline (Tim); his sister-in-law, Diane Lopez (Rick); and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, neighbors, and lifelong friends. His legacy will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing and loving him. "Ooh and I, I just wanted you to know I had a good time Hey, I had a really good time" - Boston, I Had a Good Time
