Vincent “Num Kee” Mark Hernandez, 78, of Mayetta, KS, passed away Friday, March 6, 2026 at the Holton Health Care in Holton, KS. He was born August 15, 1947 in Topeka, KS the son of George Hernandez and Marcella Nozhackum.
Vincent was a member of the Prairie Band Potawatomi Nation. He worked at the Food Distribution Center and the Water Treatment Facility for the Prairie Band Potawatomi Tribe.
He is preceded in death by his parents; a sister, Patricia A. Matchie; 2 brothers, Robert “Bobby” Padilla and Harold Hernandez.
Vincent is survived by his 3 sisters, Dolly Potts of Rossville, KS, Nina Hinds of Mayetta, KS and Toni Dodds (Randy) of Topeka, KS; and 1 brother, Daniel Hernandez of Topeka, KS.
Ttibekwe and Wake will be Monday evening, March 9, 2026 at Nozhackum Hall west of Mayetta, KS. Burial will be Tuesday morning at Prairie Peoples Cemetery. Mercer Funeral Home in Holton is in charge of arrangements.
