Vincent V. Markowski, age 95, died on Thursday, June 27, 2024, at Harbor Haven Health and Rehabilitation Center. He was born on July 9, 1928, in Berlin, Wisconsin (at home on Ceresco St., with his grandma Trader). He grew up in Berlin and attended Berlin High School, graduating with the class of 1946. Vince married Wilma Poblitz on September 16, 1950, at St. Michael Catholic Church in Berlin. This was the same date he received his draft notice. She preceded him in death on January 6, 2012. He served in U.S. Army field artillery in Germany from 1950 to 1952 when he was honorably discharged. When he returned from service, he went back to work at Muckerheide Furs where he was employed from the summer of 1950 until his retirement in 1989. He purchased the business around 1977-78 and operated it for approximately 12 years before selling it. He was a member of the Trier-Puddy American Legion Post 75 and Fond du Lac Eagles Aerie 270.

 Survivors include his son & daughter-in-law, Gary (Lynn) Markowski; two grandchildren, Megan (Erik) Taddy, Ethan (Lidia) Markowski; one great-granddaughter, Lillian Taddy; one great-grandson, James Markowski; his sisters, Mary Shurpit and Frances Grasee, his sister-in-law, Lorraine Markowski; his special friend, Beverly Immel. He is further survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents (Frances & Valentine Markowski); his wife, Wilma; his brothers, Peter, August, Anthony; his sisters, Josephine, Genevieve, and Barbara; his brothers-in-law, Donald Shurpit, Alexander Shilobrit, Robert Grasee; his sisters-in-law; Marlene Poblitz, Nora Jean (Anthony) Markowski.

 Visitation will take place on Monday, July 1, 2024, from 10:00 AM until 12 noon at Holy Family Parish, 271 4th St. Way, Fond du Lac, WI, 54937. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place following the visitation at the church on Monday at 12 noon. Entombment will follow the service at Shrine of Rest Mausoleum, Ledgeview Memorial Park. Military graveside honors will take place at the mausoleum.

Vince was a loving father, grandpa, and great-papa and will be greatly missed by his family and friends.

 In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Holy Family Parish or charity of your choice.
