Uecker-Witt Funeral Home & Cremation CenterChristopher A. Spoerl, a lifelong learner and devoted family man, passed away suddenly in his home on January 28, 2026, at the age of 42.
Born on November 30, 1983, at St. Joseph’s Hospital in West Bend, Wisconsin, Chris’s childhood was defined by a sense of adventure and a boundless curiosity about the world. Whether he was building snow forts, creating Lego robots, or exploring local trails on his bike, Chris was always in motion. His early years were marked by a "rambunctious" spirit and a close-knit circle of friends.
That childhood curiosity eventually turned into a lifelong passion for understanding how things worked. With Chris around, no household appliance was safe; he was known to disassemble VCRs and drills just to study their inner workings. This mechanical aptitude led him to rebuild a car engine for his beloved Capri and eventually guided his professional path.
Chris attended Moraine Park Technical College, where he earned an Associate Degree in Applied Science with a focus on robotics. It was during his time at Moraine Park that he met the love of his life, Tara. For over 20 years, they navigated life’s joys and challenges with a bond rooted in true companionship.
A dedicated worker, Chris spent several years at McDonald’s in his youth before beginning a career at Mid-States Aluminum Corporation in Fond du Lac, where he worked in robotics maintenance. Despite his professional expertise, Chris never stopped being a student. He was a true lifelong learner who frequently enrolled in college courses just for the joy of discovery.
Chris is survived by his beloved wife, Tara Spoerl; his daughter, Emily; his mother, Joanne Spoerl; and his sisters, Jennifer and Heather. He is further survived by his nieces, Karla, Cynthia, and Angela Cruz; and his great-niece, Athena. He was preceded in death by his father, Robert Spoerl.
Chris will be remembered for his inquisitive mind, love of music, hardworking nature, and the quiet joy he took in solving the puzzles of the world around him.
We would like to thank the first responders for their care and dedication on the night he passed.
The visitation will be held on Saturday, February 28, 2026, from 12:30 PM – 2:30 PM at Uecker-Witt Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life will follow the visitation at 2:30 PM at The Fond du Lac Eagles Clubs. Cremation has taken place.
