On Sunday, December 28, 2025, we lost a beautiful and kind soul, Vincent Ray Moore, affectionately known as Ray Ray to family and friends. Vincent was born on March 31, 2007, in Fort Carson, Colorado, to Ernest D. Moore III and Melissa Silva Moore, currently of Bossier City, Louisiana. Even as a baby, you could see the kindness and sensitivity behind his beautiful brown eyes. Vincent was a loving spirit who routinely brought smiles and laughter to those he came into contact with and will be greatly missed.

Vincent is survived by his parents, Ernest D. Moore III and Melissa Silva Moore; his brothers, Darian James Moore (CO) and Daniel Quinan Lee Moore (CO); and his sisters, Samantha M. Velazquez (LA) and Franceska Velazquez (LA). He is also survived by his grandparents, Rosa Alvarado (TX), Ernest D. Moore Jr. (Marcia) (IL), Patsy Silvia (LA), and Reuben Silva (D.); his aunts, Kimberly Watson (Belinda) (TX) and Pauline Harrington (NC); and his uncles, Micheal Moore (Jasmine) (IL), Erick Moore (Anita) (TX), Ruben Silva (LA), and Robert Silva (LA). His nieces, Alessandra and Ashley, and his nephew, Edgar (LA), along with a host of other family and friends, also mourn his passing. We cannot forget his best furry friend, Apollo, who is also greatly affected by his loss.

Vincent was a senior at Benton High School and part of their graduating class of January 2026. He excelled in basketball, enjoyed video games, and earned a belt in karate at a young age. Vincent enjoyed spending time with family and friends, and much of his time was spent in the driveway shooting hoops until after the sun went down. His passion for the sport encouraged him to practice, collect basketballs, and even draw a court on the driveway. There was a love of travel from the time he spent on the road with his dad. Vincent was an old soul and inspired others to be better versions of themselves. Recently, the ups and downs of adolescence encouraged him to reconnect with faith and continue to help others in the community. He is described as kind, generous, and beyond his years. His propensity to help others showed a resilience and compassion not often shown by others.

Vincent’s death does not define his legacy; he touched many lives in his time on earth, and sadly, whatever internal fight he was experiencing was overwhelming, and we lost our own beacon of light. His passing was too soon, but we will continue to share the memories and stories of love and loyalty that will not be forgotten.
