Vincent Albert Prostko, a distinguished retired Air Force officer and engineer, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2025, in Kirksville, Missouri. He was born on August 31, 1936, in McKees Rocks, Pennsylvania. A man of commendable character, Vincent is remembered for his caring, loving, and devoted nature.
Throughout his career, Vincent served his country honorably as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Air Force. His dedication to service and excellence left a lasting impact on those who had the privilege to know him and witness his commitment.
In addition to his military achievements, Vincent was a talented engineer who applied his skills and passion to various projects, contributing significantly to the field. His enthusiasm for building and flying model airplanes was a cherished pastime, where he fostered friendships with a group of like-minded individuals who shared his love for aviation.
Vincent's family was the cornerstone of his life. He is survived by his beloved wife, Kathleen Prostko, and his children, Kathy, Roberta, Veronica, and Loretta. His legacy will endure through their memories and the values he instilled in them.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Howard and Pearl, and his siblings, Ruth, Howard, Tom, and Bernie, who also played significant roles in his life. Their shared experiences and memories remain a part of the tapestry of Vincent’s life, reflecting his deep roots and connections to family.
A graveside service to honor Vincent's life will be held on October 27, 2025, at Highland Park Cemetery in Kirksville, Missouri. Friends and family are invited to gather in remembrance of a remarkable man who served his country honorably and loved his family fiercely. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
