Vincent Reda Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Westchester Funeral Home, Inc. on Jul. 10, 2024.
Vincent "Vinny" Reda passed away Friday, July 5th. Vinny was born in Brooklyn, where he grew up with his sister; he remained a Brooklynite at heart his whole life. Vinny enlisted in the Army in 1957 and had the good fortunate to be stationed in the south of France. This began his lifelong love affair with art, food and travel. His service stories are worthy of being published. In 1959 Vinny was honorably discharged from the Army and returned to his beloved New York City where he eventually became a partner, and later the sole owner, of a utility consulting firm. In 1963, Vinny married a girl from Manhattan and shortly thereafter they welcomed their son into the world.
As anyone who knows him will attest to, Vinny was a unique man with a passion for life, jazz and the arts. He loved to travel, and he went on many trips with his family to Europe; his travels always involved great adventures and he befriended people everywhere he went. The last several years were difficult as Parkinson's eroded his mobility, but Vinny refused to let his illness define him. His wife cared for him and their home, her attentive care extended his life years. On June 28th, Vinny went to bed in his home talking with his wife, looking forward to seeing his son and daughter-in-law for a celebratory lunch the next day. Unfortunately, he didn't wake up, but now he rests in peace.
Vinny will be greatly missed and forever loved by family and friends.
