Vincent Sexton

Vincent "Buddy" Sexton, age 93 of Lynchburg, passed away peacefully Thursday evening February 26, 2026 at his home. He was born May 22, 1932 in Oliver Springs, Tennessee, the son of the late John and Rebecca (Johnson) Sexton. Mr. Sexton was a proud veteran of the United States Army and retired from General Motors after thirty-two years of service. He is survived by two children, John (Kellie) Sexton of Sabina, and Kathy (Matt) Whalen of Hillsboro; seven grandchildren, Eric McCoy, Kyrsten Jones, Alisha Purcell, Katelyn Sexton, Chase Sexton, Travis Sexton and Hanna Purcell; two step grandchildren Corey Randolph and Chrissy (Tyler) Ison; a great grandchild, Alexis Purcell; and four step great-grandchildren, Masyn Randolph, Maveryck Randolph, Atlis Ison, and Colten Ison; as well as many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, Mr. Sexton was preceded in death by his wife Katherine Frances (Herres) Sexton, who passed away May 30, 2020; and five siblings, Bill Sexton, Pat Sexton, J.C. Sexton, June Hoover and Charles "Little Boy" Sexton. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 4, 2026 at the Davis-Turner Funeral Home in Lynchburg, when a funeral service will begin. Chaplin Jeff Davis will officiate. Burial with military honors presented by the Highland County Veteran's Honor Guard will follow in the Harwood Cemetery.
