Vincent R. Walston, born on November 24, 1959, in Louisville, Kentucky, passed away on November 1, 2025, in New Albany, Indiana. He lived a life dedicated to the craft of carpentry, a profession he held dear not just as a career but as a heartfelt hobby. Vincent was known for his keen eye and skillful hands, building houses that were not only structures but homes filled with warmth and character.
He was a man of great spirit and creativity, enjoying activities such as playing horseshoes and poker, and cherishing social moments spent with family and friends. Vincent found immense joy in his role as a grandfather, taking great pride in his grandchildren, Destiny, Ethan, Landon, and Darrell. Their happiness brought him unparalleled joy, and he treasured every opportunity to spend time with them, making memories that would last a lifetime.
Vincent is survived by his devoted wife, Cindy Walston; children Eric (Juanita) McKim, Misty (Chris) Elder, and Kenny McKim; siblings Mike (Gerri) Walston, Pat (Ellen) Walston, David Walston, Willie Spaulding, Jerrie Earls, Diane Coddington, Karen (Nathan) Johnson, Tammy Nay, and Jody Zapata; along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will remember him fondly.
He was preceded in death by his father, George Bufford Walston; mother, Delores May Curtis; sister, Leila Sutherland; sister, Tina Lacy; and brother, Todd Spaulding.
A viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at 4:00 PM with funeral service at 6:00 PM and visitation will continue until 8:00 PM at Newcomer Funeral Home, Southern Indiana, located at 3309 Ballard Ln, New Albany, IN 47150.
Vincent R. Walston will be missed deeply, yet his legacy will live on through the love and memories he shared with all who knew him.
The family requests that contributions in Vincent’s memory be made to donor's choice.
