Vinita L. Mihlfeld, age 90, of Linton, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family at 1:50 A.M. on Wednesday, December 28, 2022, at Compassus Hospice in Indianapolis. She was born at home in Dearborn, Michigan on November 20, 1932, the daughter of William Otto and Susie Mae (Pate) Wells.
Following high school graduation, Vinita worked as a secretary for Ford Motor Company. She also worked throughout the years at Linton First Baptist Church and Dr. Parmenter"s office. She married Edward Dale Mihlfeld on December 27, 1952, and was a homemaker and mother to her four children. She always said children were her greatest blessing and never missed activities. She was a true example of what a mother and wife should be.
Vinita was a member of Saron United Church of Christ in Linton. She was also a member of Triad and the Lintones, having a beautiful and clear alto voice.. She loved watching hummingbirds and tracking their migration.
She is survived by her four children, Susan Yoder of Lakeland, GA, Louise (Randy) Baker of Linton, Edward (Susan) Mihlfeld of Bloomington, and Gary (Mary) Mihlfeld of Linton; grandchildren, Shannon (Brian) Morales of Lakeland, GA, Beau (Trista) Baker of Linton, Allison (John) File of Brownsburg, Seth (Alexandria) Mihlfeld of Broadripple, Holly (Adam) Newkirk of Ashmore, IL, Trent Mihlfeld of Loogootee, and Leah Hubbell of Linton; and her eleven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; son-in-law, William Yoder; grandson, Michael Yoder; and great-grandson, Hunter Mihlfeld.
Visitation will be held at Welch & Cornett Funeral Home in Linton on Monday, January 2, 2023 at 1:00 P.M. until the time of memorial service at 3:00 P.M.
Burial will be held at Fairview Cemetery at a later date.
Memorial donations may be made to Saron United Church of Christ Youth Missions, through the funeral home.
