Viola Barber Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Raynes Funeral Home - Buffalo on Mar. 18, 2026.
Viola Lynn "Sis" Barber, 66, of Rawson, Ohio, formerly of Grimms Landing, West Virginia, passed away on the morning of March 18, 2026, surrounded by the love of her daughter. Known affectionately to many as "Sis", Viola was a woman whose heart was always open to others, and her greatest joy in life was caring for the people she loved.

Born Viola Lynn Parsons on September 22, 1959, she was the daughter of Paul Allen Parsons and Judith Ida Stover Parsons Sensabaugh. Viola lived a life centered around family, kindness, and compassion. If someone needed help, comfort, or simply someone to listen, Viola was the person they turned to. Being a caregiver wasn't just something she did - it was who she was.

Viola was formerly employed with the U.S. Postal Service in Buffalo, West Virginia, where she worked for many years and was known for her dedication and strong work ethic.

She loved music, dancing, shopping at the Re-Store and she found so much joy in being surrounded by her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her family meant everything to her, and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Viola was preceded in death by her beloved son, Robert J. Barber Jr.; her other half of over 22 years, Charles "Bub" Tucker; his father, Foster "Ed" Tucker; her mother, Judith Ida Stover Parsons Sensabaugh; her stepfather, Paul A. Sensabaugh; her brother, Danny Allen Parsons; and her niece, Paula Sue Parsons.

She leaves behind those who were the center of her life: her daughter, Kristy ( James) Bartram of Rawson, Ohio, along with their children Brianna, Brooke, Dakotah, Amber, Charity; her son, Jeffrey Barber of Tennessee, and his children Hailiey and Brooklynn; her stepson, Charles Everett Tucker Jr. of West Virginia, along with his son Eli Tucker Jr. of Findlay Ohio, of whom Viola lovingly said Eli was "part of my soul."; and the children of her late son, Robert Barber Jr., Myranda, Destiny, Miracle, Trinity,

She is also survived by her siblings Michael (Trina) Parsons of Arlington Ohio, and Sharon Rowe of Findlay, Ohio, along with many extended family members and loved ones throughout northwest Ohio and northwestern Pennsylvania.

Viola leaves behind a large and loving family that includes 12 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, all of whom brought tremendous joy to her life.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 P.M. Saturday, March 21, 2026 at Raynes Funeral Home, Buffalo, West Virginia, with Pastor Randy Parsons officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home.

Viola will be laid to rest at the Adkins Family Cemetery in Grimm's Landing, West Virginia, where she will be buried on the hill.

A celebration of life will be held later this summer in Findlay, Ohio, for family and friends to gather and honor Viola's life when the weather is warmer.

To know Viola was to know someone who loved deeply, gave freely, and cared endlessly for those around her. Her warmth, laughter, and the love she poured into her family will live on in every life she touched.

Though she is gone from our sight, her love will guide us for the rest of our lives.
