Viola Boyd Clark, born October 30, 1934, in Bronx, New York, passed away on October 13, 2024, in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, at the age of 89. She met her husband, Elverton "Al" Clark, while in college in Plattsburgh, New York, where she studied to become a nurse. Al entered the USAF to train as a pilot, then they married when he gained his pilot's wings. Viola embraced the role of a military wife. After 20 years of dedicated service, Al retired as a Lieutenant Colonel and they went on to celebrate 69 years of marriage.
Viola was a loving mother to three daughters: Kim (Bobby) Sullivan Spear, Kerry (Gary) Broxson, and Kathryn (Marc) Filion. She took great pride in her family, which grew to include six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild.
In her spare time, Viola enjoyed gardening, tending to her flowers, and was an avid reader. One of her greatest joys was traveling to the Blue Ridge Mountains, especially in the fall when the leaves turned vibrant colors.
Viola had a distinguished nursing career spanning 40 years, with nursing positions at Fort Walton Beach Hospital and Crestview Hospital, culminating in her role as a Crisis Stabilization Specialist at Bridgeway Center in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. She leaves behind a legacy of care and compassion in both her professional and personal life.
No public services are scheduled at this time.
