Viola Howard DAVIS

Viola Howard Davis, 92, of Youngstown, OH, departed this life Sunday, February 1, 2026 at 1:04 a.m. at the Hospice House, following complications from a short illness.

She was born October 10, 1933 in Albany, GA, the daughter of Willie and Lillie Howard, residing in the area for 73 years, coming from Albany.

Viola was employed with Wedgewood Bowling Alley, Servamation and Youngstown Tile Supply. She was a 1951 graduate of Madison High School in Albany, GA.

She was a member of the Lincoln Christian Church, where she served on the Usher Board and Kitchen Committee and belonged to the Buckeye Elks Lodge BPOE. She enjoyed gardening, fishing and going to casinos.

She married Edgar Davis Sr. in March 24, 1948, he died January 26, 2002.

She leaves to mourn, two sons, Edgar Davis Jr. and Bobby Davis both of Youngstown; one daughter, Ms. Elaine Davis of Youngstown; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Willie and Lillie Howard; one brother, John Howard; four sisters, Ms. Betsie Howard, Ms. Mary Lee Richardson, Ms. Anna Bell Howard and Ms. Lula Howard and one grandson, Edgar James Davis III.

Funeral Services will be held Thursday, February 12, 2026 at 12:00 p.m. at the Sterling-McCullough Williams Youngstown Chapel, with Calling Hours from 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. Burial will take place at Tod Homestead Cemetery.
