Viola Hendricks-James Obituary
Viola Elizabeth Hendricks-James, age 92, passed away on April 16, 2025, at her residence in Council Bluffs.
Viola was born July 11,1932, in Westphalia, IA., to the late Joseph and Anna (Kenkel) Hertzing. She enjoyed card playing, casino trips, her family gatherings and most especially with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Viola was a member of the catholic faith and a former VFW member.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husbands, Donald Hendricks and Robert James Sr.; son-in-law, Bob Stanfill; stepdaughter, Denise James; stepson, Michael James; sister, Helen Henry; and brother Vernon Hertzing.
Viola is survived by her children, Jim Hendricks Sr. and wife, Joni, of Council Bluffs, John Hendricks and wife, Vicky, of Kansas City, MO., Connie Stanfill, of Council Bluffs, Brenda Cammarada and husband, Chuck, of Omaha, Robert James Jr., and wife, Lila, of Denver, CO., Joni Hendricks and husband, James, of Council Bluffs; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; sister, Lois Ann "Butch" Phillips of FL., nieces and nephews.
Wake service: Monday 5 p.m., followed by visitation until 7 p.m., at Cutler O'Neill Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial: Tuesday 10:30 a.m., at Corpus Christi-Queen of Apostles Church followed by a luncheon in the church social hall.
Interment: St. Joseph Cemetery Wednesday at 2 p.m. Family will direct memorials.
