Viola Revis Rice

Viola Revis Rice, age 93, of Weaverville, went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, November 13, 2024.

Mrs. Rice was born on January 3, 1931, in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. Viola was a homemaker who enjoyed working in her yard, reading, cooking and working puzzles.

Viola was the wife of the late Frank H. “Jack” Rice and she was also preceded in death by her brother, J.D. Revis; sisters, Joan Ledford and Barbara Rogers; and son, Michael Rice. 

Surviving are her daughters, Sandy Parris and husband Gary, and Darlene Galland and husband Charlie; and son, Scotty Rice and wife Patty; grandchildren, Jeremy Parris, DJ Parris, Chris Parris, DeWayne Rice and wife Heather, Brandon Rice and wife Kayla, CP Galland, and Hayden Galland; and ten great grandchildren.

Mrs. Rice’s funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 22, 2024, at the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with the Chaplain Cy Miller officiating. Burial will follow at West Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 12:45 p.m. to 1:45 p.m. prior to the service at West Funeral Home.
