Viola Geneil Richardson, age 93, passed away on Tuesday, January 7, 2025 at Trend Health and Rehab in Carthage, MS. Her visitation will be held on Sunday, January 12, 2025, from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM, at Wolf Funeral Services in Morton, MS. Her Funeral Service will be held on Monday, January 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Allen Chapel in Ludlow, MS. Bro. Joseph Oster will officiate under the direction of Wolf Funeral Services.
Viola was born to Richard (Dick) Torrence and Maude Magdeline Harrell on July 7, 1931, in Rankin County, MS. She had lived in Crane, Texas for a number of years and then moved back to Mississippi where she lived on her farm for over 30 years. Viola was a member of Allen Chapel in Ludlow, MS. She loved to garden and take care of her beloved hummingbirds.
Viola is preceded in death by her husband, William Ray Richardson, her parents, Richard and Maude Torrence, her three sisters, Justine Toney, Julia Smith and Flossie Prestage, and her four brothers, CH, James Richard, JW and Donald Torrence. She is survived by her only daughter, Judy Richardson and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.
