Viola Juanita Saiz of Clovis, NM passed away on Sunday, September 28, 2025, at her home. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 7, 2025, from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, and Wednesday, October 8, 2025 from 10:00 am to 6:00 pm, Chapel of Angels, 1430 Thornton Street. Rosary will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2025, at 11:00 am with Mass of the Christian Burial to follow at 11:30 am, Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, with Father Sotero Sena officiating, 108 Davis Street. Richard Vigil, Toby Love, Jimmy Miller, Nicole Garcia, LouAnn Womble and Daniel Saiz will serve as pallbearers. Burial to follow at Lawn Haven Memorial Gardens, 1601 E Llano Estacado.

Viola was born on July 5, 1945, to Demetrio and Isabel Chavez in Duran, NM. She married Philip Saiz Jr. on April 19, 1969, in Duran and finally made their home in Clovis, NM. Viola was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. She was a member of Our Lady of Guadalupe church and was very devoted to her faith. She loved to cook, sew, quilt and getting into anything she could find that she wasn't supposed to. Family was everything to her, as she was 1 of 13 children. Viola loved talking about all her memories of her mom and dad and growing up with all the adventures she had with her brothers and sisters. But her most memorable time would be spending time with her grandchildren as they were her heart and soul. Viola was at her happiest when she was surrounded by all her children and grandchildren. We will certainly miss her favorite saying when you saw her or spoke on the phone with her "I will see you in the movies" and we would tell her "Not unless we see you first". And you could never leave her house without her saying a prayer. This amazing woman will be greatly missed by all.

Viola is survived by two daughters; Alva (Dale) Lucero, Gabrielle (Nathaniel) Madrid, two sons; Nathan Saiz, Philip (Catherine) Saiz and her grandchildren; Jonah (Anjelica) Lucero, Rebekah (Francisco) Jimenez, Victoria Gonzales, Tinnelle (Nick) Gonzales, Allanna (Greg) Martinez and Michelle Saiz, brothers; Trinidad (Pauline) Chavez, Trinkie (Jean) Chavez, Demetrio (Rosie) Chavez and Raul Chavez, sisters; Carol (Richard) Vigil, Tommie (Leo) Montoya.

She is preceded in death by her husband of more than 50 years; Philip Saiz Jr., parents; Demetrio and Isabel Chavez, brothers; Frank Chavez, Don Chavez, Herman Chavez and Jimmy Chavez, sisters; Betty Flores and Tana Lucero.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Muffley Funeral Home, www.muffleyfuneralhome.com, (575)762-4435.
