Soledad "Sally" Saiz, 84 a longtime resident of Fort Sumner passed away Friday, September 26, 2025 at Mission Arch Care Center in Roswell. Sally was born November 4, 1940 in Pastura, New Mexico to the home of Pabulin and Cleotilde (Armijo) Romero.
Sally was a faithful member of St. Anthony Catholic Church in Fort Sumner where she served as a Minister of the Eucharist, and a member of the church choir. She also taught in the C.C.D. and First Communion program. Sally enjoyed caring for her grandchildren. She worked in her yard and kept a beautiful flower garden.
Sally is preceded in death by her husband Henry Saiz in 2020, a daughter Olivia Kuchta in 2020, her father Paublin Romero in 1953, her mother Cleotilde in 2007, four sisters Lydia Encinias, Bennie Tapia, Dora Garnand, and Rita Muniz, five brothers Isidro Romero, Paublin Romero, Pete Romero, Trinidad Romero, and Greg Romero.
A loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend Sally will be dearly missed by her family. She is survived by two daughters Angie Roybal of Melrose, Amy Andreas (James) of Roswell, three sons Albert Saiz (Becky) of Clovis, Michael Saiz (Kristina) of Amarillo, Cory Saiz (Kit) of Amarillo and a son in law John Kuchta of Clovis. Sally and Henry also raised two grandchildren, Cambria Andreas and Christopher Saiz. She is survived by one sister Joel Johnson (Billy) of Santa Rosa, two brothers Wilfred Romero (Rhonda) of Hereford, TX and Leroy Bonney (Darlene) of Santa Rosa. Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, and 13 great-grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, other realtives and many friends.
Services for Sally Saiz will be held at a later date.
