Violet Mae Cheney, 86, passed away at her residence in Alabama on Saturday, December 20, 2025.
She was born in Lebanon, MO on February 4, 1939.
Violet married Franklin Keith Cheney Sr. on June 26, 1954 in Hartford City. He passed away on October 13, 2017.
She enjoyed gardening and cooking.
Violet will be sadly missed by her son, Franklin Keith (wife, Cathy) Cheney Jr. of Apex, NC; daughter, Vicki E. Cheney of Cherokee, AL; grandchildren, Jennifer "Stacey" (husband, James) Marsh Jr., Jamie Williams (companion, Gary Turner), Justin Cheney ( companion, Rebecca Lane) and Lauren (husband, Jeremy) Willoughby; great-grandchildren, Keith Morton, Katja Morton, Amine Zahzouh, Mikelanne Sheesley, Angela Trent, William Cheney, Noah Cheney, Henry Cheney, Landen Eller, Riley Caballero; great-great-grandchildren, Isaiah Larson, Amira Zahzouh, Isra Zahzouh, Vincent White, Miles Caballero and Macy Caballero; brothers, Dennis Plew, Rick (wife, Donna) Hise and Robert (wife, Cheryl) Hise; several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband, sister, Nellie Drum and brother, Chet Plew.
Funeral service will be at 1 pm Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Keplinger Funeral Home, 509 N. High St., Hartford City. Visitation will be from 11 am to 1 pm Saturday, January 10, 2026 at Keplinger Funeral Home.
Private family committal will be at Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Muncie.
