Violet Joyce Clark, born on Valentine's Day, 1942, in Atlanta, Georgia, was the embodiment of love, kindness, and unwavering faith. Daughter to Owen & Emma Mae Huddleston, she was the last remaining sibling out of 6: Jerry, Donald, Shirley, Sam & Jenny.
Devoted wife to Billy Carl Clark for 58 years. And a beloved mother to her daughter, Tina Marie, son in law Tommy Prevatt, and late son, Billy Carl Clark Jr. She was adored as "Nana" by her Grandsons, their wives, and her great grandsons: (Grandson) Thomas, (wife) Ashley, (great grandsons) Oliver & Parker Prevatt; and (Grandson) Timothy, (wife) Kristen & (great grandson) Martin Prevatt; along with lots of cousins, nieces & nephews who also lovingly referred to her as "Nana".
Violet's life was a beautiful reflection of her Christian faith and deep love for her family. She lived with a heart full of grace. She was a faithful servant of God, a dedicated member of her church, and a woman who truly walked in His light each day. Her faith was not just something she believed, it was something she lived, wholeheartedly. She gave selflessly, loved unconditionally, and always put her family and faith above all else.
From her home, Violet ran a humble beauty shop for over 30 years that became a sanctuary for many. Her clients weren't just customers, they were friends, neighbors, and part of her extended family. She formed bonds that lasted decades, even continuing to care for some after they had passed, lovingly preparing their hair so their families could say goodbye with peace and dignity.
Her compassion stretched far and wide. Violet cared for her Aunt Ruby, her mother Emma Huddleston, and later, her sister Shirley Camden-each looked after with patience, devotion, and kindness. And all while she continued to run her home and beauty salon. Her heart was always open, and her hands were always ready to help. The loss of her mother and her son, both during the same Mother's Day weekend, was a sorrow Violet carried deeply. As dementia eventually took hold, it lifted some of that heavy grief, though it never dimmed the light of her spirit or the love she continued to give.
Violet was a truly beautiful soul, inside and out. She lived a life of quiet dignity, never speaking unkindly or acting outside of her faith. Her legacy is one of love, service, and strength. She touched countless lives and left each one better simply by being a part of it.
Though we feel the ache of her absence, we take comfort in knowing she is reunited with her cherished loved ones in Heaven-wrapped in peace, joy, and the eternal love of God.
A Celebration of Life will be held in her honor on Saturday, August 2nd, from 11:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Family and friends are warmly invited to join in remembering Violet's beautiful life and the love she so freely gave.
Rest sweetly, Violet. You were one of God's most precious gifts, and you will be forever missed.
