Violet Irene Goodman

Violet Irene Goodman was born on November 8th, 1932, in Ada, OK to her parents Thomas Lonzo Hurley and Violet Lyle Mitchell Hurley. She received the ultimate gift when she went to be with Jesus on her 90th birthday on November 8th, 2022.
She graduated from Vanoss High School in 1950. She married Stanley Hicks Goodman Sr. on August 1, 1953 in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. She had 4 children: Stanley Hicks Goodman Jr., Jerry Dean Goodman and wife Gayla, Monnie Elaine Smith and husband Robbie, and Drucilla Ann Goodman. She had 7 grandchildren: Tommy Goodman, Stacy Goodman, Trina Ardery, Chad Goodman, Vanessa Lee, Brandon Smith, and Maranda Babb. 17 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren. Her siblings include Francis Hurley, Everett Hurley, T.L. Hurley, Charles Hurley, Wyomma Lou Hurley, and Kenneth Hurley.
She had a variety of jobs in her lifetime including pastry chef, caregiver, dietician, telephone operator, and a phenomenal seamstress. She retired after a 20-year career from Brockway Glass Plant as a glass inspector. At the age of 80 she obtained her car dealer license where she sold cars at her grandson’s car lot. Violet loved to volunteer and served in various roles. She volunteered for over a decade at the Ada House of Hope Pregnancy Crisis Center. She also volunteered as an AARP tax aid. She would always send Drucilla up to a neighbor’s doorstep with her freshly baked goods in a time of need or just because!
She was preceded in death by husband Stanley Hicks Goodman Sr., her two sons, Stanley Hicks Goodman Jr. and Jerry Dean Goodman, her mother Violet Hurley and Father Thomas Hurley, and siblings Wyomma Lou Hurley,T.L. Hurley, Charles Hurley, Francis Hurley, and Everett Hurley. Pallbearers are Robbie Smith, Nick Lee, Chad Goodman, Beau Babb, and Brandon Smith.
Violet was strong in her faith and would share Jesus with everyone she would meet. She was a member of the Union Hill Baptist Church. Her beautiful smile, love, and helping hand will be missed by all her family and a host of close friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM, Monday, November 14th, 2022 at Union Hill Baptist Church in Ada, Oklahoma. Interment will follow at Rosedale Cemetery in Ada.
