Born September 4, 1924 in Little Cove, PA, she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and Stella Keefer.
Violet was raised on a farm in the Little Cove and graduated from Mercersburg High School. She married Ivan M. Ott and they raised 3 children together. Violet was very outgoing and enjoyed babysitting children for her friends and family. She enjoyed attending carnivals, camping, listening to bluegrass music, and looked forward to the activities at Manorcare while she was a resident.
Violet was a former member of Mercersburg Sportsmen's association, the State Line Ruritan Club, the Leitersburg Grange, and St. John's Lutheran Church.
Violet is survived by a daughter, Linda D. McKenzie, son, Daniel T. Ott, 6 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren, 3 great-great-grandchildren, a sister, Martha Duncan, and daughter-in-law Joanne Ott.
Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Ivan M. Ott, a son, Donald M. Ott, a grandchild, Tracy Ott, and a brother, Ernest Keefer.
A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM on Wednesday August 23, 2023 at Fries Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Murr officiating. There will be a viewing 1 hour prior to the service and burial will follow at Fairview Cemetery, Mercersburg, PA.
