Violet M. Staubach, 93, of Sodus, went to meet her Lord & Savior, Tuesday, December 14, 2004 at her daughter?s home. Funeral Services will be held 11:00 A.M. Friday at Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, 4071 Naomi Rd., Sodus with Rev. David Cheyne officiating. Burial will take place at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may call from 5-8 P.M. Thursday at Kerley-Starks & Menchinger Family Funeral Home, 2650 Niles Rd., St. Joseph. Memorials may be made to Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, Berrien County Cancer Service or Berrien County Shrine Crippled Children?s Fund. Mrs. Staubach was born July 23, 1911 on the family homestead on the plains of Saskatchewan, Canada to Hans & Louise (Fingerson) Dalager. Her family moved to Benton Harbor when she was eight years old and shortly after joined the House of David, where she grew up. Violet worked as a cook in the House of David Vegetarian Restaurant for many years. On September 21, 1937, she married Stephen Staubach in South Bend, Indiana. Violet was a member of Chapel Hill United Methodist Church, and the Colonial Chapter 13 of the Order of Eastern Star. She was a girl scout leader for many years in Benton Harbor and enjoyed gardening. Violet is survived by her daughter-Louise (John) King of Sodus; one granddaughter-Marlene (Kevin) Burbach of Sodus; her granddaughter-in-law-Cherie King of Sodus; six great-grandchildren-Jacob & Tyler Burbach, Nicole & Michelle King, Ariel & Nathane Corwin; and her brother-Lloyd Dalager of Benton Harbor. She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Agnes Wade; her husband Stephen on January 22, 1989; and her grandson Bret King on November 1, 2003.
