Virgil Counts Livingston, 79, of Pomaria went to his heavenly home on Sunday, November 30, 2025, after an extended illness.

Born on April 2, 1946, in Pomaria, he was a son of the late Horace Asbury and Essie Long Livingston. Virgil was a graduate of Mid Carolina High School class of 1964. He retired after 30 years of service as a Warden with the S.C. Forestry Commission. He also worked with Livingston Brothers Builders and was a farmer. He enjoyed hunting and being outside and helping friends and neighbors where he could. Through example he showed his family how to be well rounded individuals and told them to always enjoy whatever field of work they chose.

He was a member of Morris Chapel Southern Methodist Church where he was currently an assistant Sunday school teacher and held several church offices over the years. He was a member of the Lower Newberry Farmers Association and Woodmen of the World.

He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Ann Cromer Livingston; his children, Tina L. Hipp, Todd and Tammy Livingston, Amanda L. and Johnny Riddle; his grandchildren, Laken and Chandlor Williams, Michael and Malorie Hipp, Taylor and Danton Hyman and great-grandsons, Baylor Williams and Callaway Hyman; sister, Llewella L. Fulmer; sister-in-law, Diane Livingston and a number of nieces and nephews. Virgil was expecting two more great-grandchildren in early 2026.

He was predeceased by a son and granddaughter, Craig and Kimberly Hipp; brothers, Felix (Mary) Livingston, Asbury Livingston and Leander (Brenda) Livingston and David Livingston; sisters, Florence (Albert) Haltiwanger, Lynn (Odell) Ruff, Magdalene (Jim) Rikard and Frances (Eugene) Fulmer.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Wednesday, December 3, 2025, at Morris Chapel Southern Methodist Church by Pastor Tony Curcio, Pastor John Hood and Pastor Steven Reynolds. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 5:00 – 7:00 pm at the McSwain-Evans Funeral Home.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Morris Chapel Southern Methodist Church, 1189 New Hope Road, Pomaria, SC 29126 or Pomaria Rescue Squad, PO Box 192, Pomaria, SC 29126.
