Virgil is survived by his wife of 47 years, Sharon Schultz; sons Randy (Kim) Schultz of Golden, Colorado; and Larry (Nancy) Schultz of Zionsville, Indiana; his wife's daughters, Lisa Metzner-Rosas of Scottsdale, Arizona and Lora Metzner of Aliso Viejo, California; grandchildren Ellie Schultz of Minneapolis, Minnesota and Abby Schultz of Denver, Colorado; step-grandson Sebastian Rosas of Scottsdale, Arizona; Sharon's sister, Debbie (Gretz) Grant and her husband Ken Grant of Osage Beach, Missouri; and many other relatives and friends.

Virgil was preceded in death by his parents, four brothers and four sisters.

The family would like to recognize and give deepest thanks to family and friends who Virgil cherished over the years, including Debbie and Ken Grant and their friends in Osage Beach, Sam and Theresa Beem; longtime Sheboygan neighbors Sheri and Earl Constien, Heidi Carpenter, Richard Boden, and Pam Schneekloth; his wife Sharon's former co-workers for enjoyable dinners and discovering new restaurants; his former bosses Mike and Heidi Reinbold; his longtime friend Jim Beine, for the emotional support, comfort and friendship he graciously shared; and his former Piggly Wiggly colleagues for staying in touch long after Virgil retired, with phone calls, visits, photos.
