Virgil "Butchie" Maurice Williamson, 64, of Columbus, Ohio, passed away peacefully on the morning of July 31, 2025. He was a kind, thoughtful man who lived simply and gave quietly. Known for his helpful nature and no-frills approach to life, he never needed much - just the basics, a bit of peace, and the people he cared about.
He is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth Williamson, and his mother, Marjorie Williamson, and his wife, Rose Desotelle.
He is survived by his son, Chris Desotelle (wife Vanessa), sisters Felicia (Lewis), Paula (Brunner), and Pamela (Jones), brother Stacey, and many nieces, nephews (including Roberta Brunner, et al.), and other extended family members who love and will miss him dearly. Though soft-spoken and reserved, his steady presence and quiet acts of care spoke volumes.
