Virginia turned the last page of the book of her life of almost 85 years and started Page 1 of her eternal life with her Savior on Thursday, October 12, 2023.
A memorial service celebrating her life will be held Saturday, October 28, 2023, at 3:00 p.m. at Oakwood Wesleyan Fellowship located at 2215-58th Street in Lubbock.
She was born to Horace and Oleta Greenhill on November 8, 1938, in Lubbock County and grew up on the family farm in New Deal.
After graduating from the University of North Texas in 1960, she went to work at the Texas Tech Library for almost forty years, retiring in 1998. She was most proud of her role in the accomplishment in automation of the library catalog system for Tech. She married Donald Andrews on June 23, 1972, and upon retirement, lived outside Cloudcroft, N.M. and later in Alamogordo, N.M.
She was an active member of the Cloudcroft Church of Christ.
She is preceded in death by her parents (Horace and Oleta Greenhill), her husband (Don Andrews), stepdaughter (Sharyl Andrews) and a brother (Robert Greenhill).
Surviving her is her youngest brother (Lonnie Greenhill) of Dallas and numerous nephews, nieces, and cousins.
She was the family historian and will be greatly missed by family and friends alike.
Memorials may be made to Lubbock Christian University or a favorite charity.
