Virginia Lee "Ginnie" Beaman

Virginia Lee Beaman, age 77, of Springfield, Missouri, went to be with her lord and savior on January 5th, 2026, following a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Ginnie was born on April 10, 1948, in Ottawa, Kansas, to Warren and Bessie Beaman. Shortly after her birth, the family relocated to Wellsville, Kansas, where many cherished memories were made at Lee's Café, the family restaurant. Around 1958, the Beaman family moved to Springfield, Missouri, where Ginnie attended Hickory Hills Elementary School and later Glendale High School, graduating in 1966. Ginnie was a proud Glendale "Scottie," and was actively involved in band and choir. In 1968, Ginnie married David Eddington, and together they welcomed three children: Ronald, Julie, and Randall. Ginnie built a long and successful career in the Springfield real estate industry. She worked for many years at Doral T. Hanks, later becoming a partner at an escrow company called The Closing Department. She continued her career at Lincoln Land Title, Inc. as a closing agent and most recently completed her professional journey at Tom Kissee Real Estate Company.

Ginnie was deeply involved in her faith and community. She was a founding member of Brentwood Christian Church and a longtime member of Ash Grove First Christian Church, where her faith and fellowship remained an important part of her life. Ginnie was also very involved in the Bible Study Fellowship organization up until the day of her passing.

One of Ginnie's greatest passions was crafting, a love that began at the age of five when her grandmother taught her embroidery. By age twelve, she had learned to crochet from another grandmother. Her favorite craft was primitive rug hooking, through which she made lifelong friends, traveled extensively, and shared her knowledge by teaching others. Her love for creativity and community extended to her service as the Ozark Fair Contest Superintendent for over 25 years, where she encouraged participation, mentored others, and supported generations of exhibitors. Above all, Ginnie treasured her family and faith. She loved creating memories, sharing traditions, teaching new skills, and spending time with those she loved most.
Ginnie is survived by her siblings: Marlena Lafferty, Shar Lay, and Lee (Vanessa) Beaman; her children: Ronald (Lacey) Eddington, Julie (John) Plummer, and Randall (Monica) Eddington; her grandchildren: Kyle (Lyla) Eddington, Kailey (Jacob) Ruggles, Rena Wright, Brighton Cox, Eva Eddington, Riley Eddington, and Ryan Eddington; and her great-grandchildren: Hayden Bell, Maddie Ruggles, Kalob Ruggles, Tucker Wright, Myles Eddington, and Nora Eddington. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Warren and Bessie Beaman; her brother-in- law, John Lafferty; nephew, Jeremiah Beaman; and great-nephew, Maverick Beaman.

Ginnie will be remembered for her strong work ethic, generous spirit, creative talents, deep faith, and unwavering love for her family. Her legacy lives on in the many lives she touched.
Private memorial will be held for family. A celebration of life will be held at a later date for family and friends. (details to come)
