Obituary For Virginia Tate Compton

Virginia Tate Compton, a devoted homemaker and beloved mother, passed away peacefully on February 24, 2026, in Virginia Beach, Virginia, at the age of 91. She was born on February 14, 1935, in Lenoir, North Carolina, and dedicated her life to caring for her family with love, faith, and grace.

Virginia was the cherished daughter of the late Kathryn and Earl Tate. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles Raymond Compton, with whom she shared many joyful years and built a loving home. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Bill Tate, the youngest of her siblings, who passed away last year.

She is survived by her loving children, son Charles Compton and his fiancée Georgette Metzger, and daughter Deborah Norton. Virginia is also survived by her sister, Patricia Weaver, as well as her cherished grandchildren Rebekah Vogel and Melissa Logan, and her great-grandsons Logan and Alexander, who brought her immense joy.

Virginia was a born-again Christian whose faith was central to her life and a source of strength, comfort, and guidance. Her life was centered around her family, and she took great pride in being a devoted stay-at-home mother, nurturing her loved ones with patience, kindness, and unwavering devotion.

The family will hold services at a later date to honor Virginia's life and cherish the memories she leaves behind. Her compassionate spirit, strong faith, and dedication to family will be fondly remembered by all who knew her.
