Virginia T. "Gini" Cox, a beacon of kindness and love, passed away peacefully on January 6, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on December 15, 1935, in Boston, MA, Gini was the cherished daughter of the late James and Nora (Flaherty) Cox, who hailed from Ireland. Her life was a tapestry of close-knit family ties, including her late siblings Mary Cox, Irene Whooley, Margaret Joyce, Veronica "Vera" Zarkauskas, James "Sonny" Cox, John Cox, and Patricia "Patsy" MacLellan.
Gini's generosity knew no bounds, and her presence was a comforting embrace to all who knew her. She was a woman of remarkable character, whose feisty exterior hid her heart of gold. Gini's life was one of service, both professionally and personally. She dedicated many years to computer operations in the health insurance industry, where her meticulous work and amiable demeanor left a lasting impact. Her commitment to service extended beyond her civilian career, as she proudly served her country in the U.S. Air Force as a sergeant from 1956-1962. This experience not only shaped her but also instilled a deep sense of patriotism and camaraderie that she carried throughout her life.
Gini's legacy is one of unwavering love and kindness. Her life was a testament to the power of a strong spirit and a generous heart. Gini is survived by many nieces, nephews, and grand nieces and grand nephews. Gini's memory will be treasured and kept alive in the hearts of her family, friends, and all who were fortunate enough to cross paths with her.
