Virginia H. Dillon

Virginia H. Dillon, 79, of Rivermead Road in Peterborough, NH died Thursday April 1, 2004 at the Monadnock Community Hospital in Peterborough after a period of failing health.

Mrs. Dillon was born in Miami, Florida on September 12, 1924, daughter of Roy H. and Dorothy (Batchelder) Hawkins. She resided in Miami until moving to Far Hills, New Jersey in 1947 and later to Martinsville, New Jersey. Mrs. Dillon had lived in Peterborough since 1998.

Mrs. Dillon was the first woman on the Far Hills, New Jersey Rescue Squad and was very proud that all of her children had attended the Far Hills Country Day School.

Mrs. Dillon is survived by 3 daughters; Kathleen Dillon Bolton of Seneca, South Carolina, Anne Dillon Gallagher of Peacham, Vermont Margaret B. Dillon of Jaffrey, New Hampshire: 3 Sons; Milton S. Dillon, III of Miami, Florida, R. Forrest Dillon of Brunswick, Maine, Robert N. Dillon of Lyon, France and 8 Grandchildren.

There will be no calling hours.

Family and Friends are warmly invited to a Memorial Gathering, which will take place in the Community Center Living Room at Rivermead on Rivermead Road in Peterborough this Sunday, April 4, 2004 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM.
