Virginia "Gigi" Angela Guanci

May 7, 1949 – July 26, 2025

Virginia "Gigi" Guanci, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, passed away peacefully on Saturday, July 26, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was 76 years old.

Born on May 7, 1949, in Newark, New Jersey, Virginia was the cherished daughter of the late John and Frances Rossi. As the oldest of three sisters, she grew up with a deep sense of responsibility and connection with her family. Affectionately known as "Gi," she was adventurous and hard-working throughout her life. After schooling, she primarily worked as a court reporter for the State of New Jersey for many years, where her dedication and personality turned colleagues to dear friends. She met her husband, Nicola, who was the only mechanic in the area who could fix her car, and years of being a devoted wife and mother followed.

Family meant everything to Gigi. Above all else, she was a loving mother to her children, Nicole and Robert. One of her proudest achievements and, perhaps, her life's work, was her children. She dedicated her life to supporting her children's every need throughout childhood and through years and years of schooling as Nicole became a medical doctor and Robert became a lawyer. She adored their spouses, Ryan and Candice, and treasured the family memories they made together as the years went on. She was blessedto have two grandchildren, Riley and Marco, the family's newest addition, who brought endless light to her life and gave her strength in the hardest of times. She is also survived by her sisters, Flora and Angela, with whom she shared a lifetime of love, memories, and the closest sisterly bond, in addition to nephews, nieces, cousins, and countless family members and friends who all shared a place in her heart.

Throughout her life, her love was immeasurable, and she was loved fiercely in return. Brave, smart, and strong, Gigi lived her life with compassion, humor, and a feisty spirit. She loved nothing more than spending time with her family, talking with her sisters, and, during her later years, enjoying her favorite Korean dramas.

Gigi's love, laughter, and strength will be forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her and she will be profoundly missed.

A viewing will be held on Tuesday, July 29, from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at O'Boyle Funeral Home in Bloomfield, New Jersey. A funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, July 30, at 10:45 a.m. at St. Thomas the Apostle Church.

Donations can be made in her name to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation.
