Virginia Hall Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Joseph E. Ratterman & Son - Southside on Feb. 12, 2026.
Virginia Lee Meyer Hall, 95, of Louisville, Kentucky, passed away peacefully on February 1, 2026, in Louisville.

Virginia was preceded in death by her husbands, Albert Bolton and Richard Hall; her daughter, Melanie Ann Metz; her brother, Titus (Bud) Meyer; her sisters, Clara Jane Kopp and Martha Rose Bugg; and her parents, Edward Emil Meyer and Emma Leuenberger Meyer.

She is survived by her daughter, Deborah (Bolton) Doll; son-in-law, Rick Metz; and her beloved grandchildren, Bill (Suzanne) Doll, Heather (Trent) McKenzie, Ted (Marcie) Doll, and Travis (Patricia) Metz, as well as ten great-grandchildren (Alysha, Canaan, Cody, Emma, Krystina, Lilith, Mckauley, McKenzie, Tessa, Wyatt) with whom she shared deeply warm and loving relationships.

Virginia was born in Meade County, Kentucky, where she grew up before later making her home in Louisville. She built a meaningful career as an X-ray Technician, dedicating many years to the medical field, caring for others.

An independent thinker, Virginia was known for being generous, pragmatic, and principled. She loved to read, sing, and spend time with her family and friends, who were always her first priority. She imparted her love of music and books to her children, shaping not only their interests but their inner lives. She especially delighted in her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, lavishing them with affection and attention.

Virginia cherished the outdoors and found great joy sitting on her back porch, gently swinging with her dog by her side. Music was a lifelong love-she enjoyed playing the organ and singing, often filling her home with song.

She was a devoted member of Epiphany United Methodist Church, where her faith and community were an important part of her life.

Visitation will be held on February 21, from 1:00 to 4:00 p.m., with a memorial service to follow at 4:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Bernheim Forest & Arboretum.
